Responsibilities:
Mercy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team and help support our mission of providing exceptional healthcare services to our patients As a Senior Database Administrator
you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our databases to ensure the smooth and secure operation of our systems Manage and maintain all aspects of the organization's databases
including planning
designing
implementing
and monitoring Ensure the security and integrity of the databases
including implementing and maintaining backup and recovery procedures Troubleshoot and resolve any database issues or errors
including performance tuning and optimizing queries Create and maintain documentation of database systems
processes
and procedures Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure smooth integration and functioning of databases with other systems and applications Monitor database performance and capacity to identify and address potential issues proactively Develop and implement data standards
policies
and procedures to ensure data integrity and accuracy Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve database performance and functionality Train and mentor junior database administrators on best practices and processes Work closely with developers and system administrators to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues Communicate effectively with team members
stakeholders
and management to provide updates on database status and any potential risks or concerns Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to maintain and upgrade databases as needed Participate in project planning and implementation to ensure databases are designed and implemented according to business needs Monitor and manage database licenses
contracts
and subscriptions to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness Act as a subject matter expert for all database-related matters and provide guidance and support to other team members as needed
