Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain ProQuest's extensive database systems to ensure their reliability
performance
and security Oversee the installation
configuration
and upgrading of database software and related products Monitor database systems to identify and resolve any issues or errors in a timely manner Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design
implement
and maintain database structures and procedures Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization activities to improve database efficiency Stay updated with the latest database technologies and trends
and make recommendations for their implementation Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations
and take necessary measures to protect sensitive information Train and mentor junior database administrators to enhance their skills and knowledge Work closely with application developers to troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues Create and maintain documentation for database systems
including policies
procedures
and standards Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical database systems Collaborate with vendors and third-party support teams to resolve technical issues and implement enhancements Communicate effectively with team members
stakeholders
and management to provide status updates and address any concerns Contribute to the continuous improvement of ProQuest's database infrastructure and processes
